AICS Beirut: the commitment against gender-based violence, beyond the 16 days

“As Director of AICS Beirut, I wish to underline Italy’s constant commitment alongside women and girls, not only in these days, but “day by day.”
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a systemic obstacle to development and human dignity, and our response as Italian Cooperation is to ensure that all appropriate measures are implemented to prevent it in a cross-cutting manner in every sector. Whether through projects in the education sector, empowerment initiatives in the private sector, or interventions in emergency contexts, attention to the protection and prevention of GBV is a fundamental and indispensable component. We firmly believe that preventing gender violence happens through economic inclusion, access to education, and the creation of safe environments for everyone.
Also in these 16 days, we reaffirm our determination to work with our partners so that every woman and girl can live freely in her country.”
