The strengthening of education and health services, the revitalization of the agricultural sector, and the enhancement of cultural and tourism heritage, with sites of extraordinary importance such as the Roman Amphitheatre of Bosra and the Church of Saint George (515 AD) at the center of the discussions with the Governor and his team.
The mission also included a visit to the public bakery of Kafr Shams (As-Sanamayn), which is of great interest to the community actively involved in its management, and for the Italian cooperation, with the objective of improving access to an essential good for the local population, and to ensure the production of up to 14 tonnes of bread per day, benefiting over 70,000 people.
Italy will continue to work alongside local authorities and international partners to promote resilience, development, and social cohesion in Southern Syria.
