Monitoring Visit to the Activities of the “NAWAFIZ AL’MA’RIFA – Windows of Knowledge: Strengthening Schools and Protecting the Future of Children” Project

📚 On November 7, AICS experts conducted a monitoring visit to the activities of the NAWAFIZ AL’MA’RIFA – Windows of Knowledge project.

📖 Within the framework of Initiative 12511.01.2, funded by Italy, the project, implemented by the CSO INTERSOS, contributes to strengthening the public education system and access to protection services in the North and Mount Lebanon Governorates.

🏫 Maaroufiye Public School, already in difficult structural conditions and further damaged after being used as a collective shelter during the conflict, has now returned to being a safe and functional space for students and teachers thanks to the requalification interventions supported by the project.

📌 During the recent monitoring visit to the Baysour Social Development Center and Maaroufiye Public School, recreational activities for children conducted in collaboration with Arcenciel and digital training sessions for teachers organized by CERD were observed. The trainers were previously prepared by the partner Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Lebanon through a training of trainers program. Finally, the school rehabilitation interventions were also visible.

🤝 The project demonstrates how localization and collaboration with public institutions are key elements for building a more solid, inclusive, and sustainable education system, capable of protecting the future of children and families in Lebanon.
