Specialized training missions for 21 Lebanese experts in the field of environmental protection are successfully moving forward.
Through theoretical sessions at the Center of Excellence (CoEEP) in Sabaudia and practical field exercises, the training focuses on:
- #Habitat protection and monitoring of native species.
- #Nature-based Solutions for post-fire restoration and the management of invasive species.
- Lagoon ecology and wildlife management at the Wildlife Rescue Center (CRAS) and Lake Fogliano.
- Local community engagement and the management of human-wildlife conflict.
Currently, activities are taking place in the #Fogliano State Reserve, in the heart of the Circeo National Park. Under the guidance of the #Carabinieri, participants are exploring the theme of “People and Nature”: how to foster harmony between human activities and protected ecosystems.
This initiative is an integral part of the UNDP Step4Nature project, funded by Italy through AICS Beirut. It serves as a concrete example of how the “Sistema Italia” places its expertise at Lebanon’s disposal to tackle climate change challenges and promote resilient land recovery.
This synergy not only strengthens the historic bond between our two countries but also builds solid skills for a greener and more sustainable future.
