Lebanon’s Minister of Social Affairs, Haneen Al Sayed, met in Rome with the Directorate General for Development Cooperation, an opportunity to consolidate a long-standing partnership between Italy and Lebanon, built through years of collaboration in support of strengthening social services and the most vulnerable people. The Minister, hosted as part of the project ‘Pilot Program for the Provision of Integrated Services to Persons with Disabilities (AID 013087)’, expressed interest in exploring cooperation in the social sector further, with a focus on disability.
During the official meeting, the Director of the AICS office in Beirut, Liana De Rosa, confirmed the Agency’s commitment to accompanying the Ministry of Social Affairs on this path of major challenges and change, through the consolidation of collaboration, the strengthening of dialogue, and the joint development of initiatives that respond to the country’s priorities.
