Agriculture
The initiatives implemented by the Italian Cooperation in Lebanon aim to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Efforts have focused on enhancing strategic agri-food value chains, particularly olive oil, fruit trees, and spices, by supporting quality improvement, processing, and export capacity.
Cultural Heritage
Preserving and enhancing Lebanon’s cultural heritage is a priority for safeguarding historical identity and promoting sustainable development.

The intervention strategy focuses on four priorities, aligned with national strategies: the rehabilitation of schools and the creation of safe and appropriate learning environments; Inclusive access to education and the protection of the most vulnerable students; the strengthening of technical and vocational education and training; support for school nutrition as a means of promoting equity and well-being
Environment
Main intervention priorities include the protection of marine and mountain resources, as well as the country's Natural Reserves; waste management, an area in which AICS stands out as one of the main donors in Lebanon; sustainable water resource management; and the promotion of alternative energy sources.
Humanitarian Aid
The Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach has been centered on supporting and strengthening national systems responsible for service delivery. This ensures alignment with national government strategies, institutional ownership by local counterparts, and localization of Aid.

Italian Cooperation’s infrastructure development efforts in Lebanon target strategic sectors.
Local Development
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Lebanon promotes the involvement of public institutions operating in the territory as active participants in a process aimed at sustainable and inclusive territorial development. This process focuses on governance, innovative partnerships between the public and private sectors, the growth of human capital, and the exchange of best practices between Italian and Lebanese entities.
Social Sector
AICS continues its commitment to service delivery within the framework of Delegated Cooperation Programs, which build upon the initiatives implemented under bilateral agreements between Italy and Lebanon.
